Accommodation

Svartå Manor ****

The countryside hotel “Svartå Manor” near the City of Raseborg in the South of Finland consists of five different historical buildings situated in an idyllic park with a scenic river flowing nearby.

These charming 19th century country houses were formerly houses for workmen at the ironwork and are now renovated to modern hotel rooms. In total we can offer thirty double rooms, eight single rooms and one suite on two floors by the river. All hotel rooms have an en-suite bathroom. Whether staying for business or pleasure our guests are guaranteed a unique experience to relax in style and comfort – enjoying the tranquility of this wonderful ancient place combined with all the modern day facilities of the hotel.

Comfort rooms are at the Shingle House, Big Cottage and Little Cottage. The Shingle House from the 19th century is covered with wood shingles in the traditional Finnish way and therefore was named “Shingle House”. The charming red hotel contains nine rooms, all tastefully furnished and individual in character. The “Big Cottage” with the traditional red color is the biggest hotel facility and hosts 14 rooms. The careful renovation of the 18th century house resulted in a harmony of tradition and modern comfort. The Little Cottage, a quaint traditional red house was once upon a time a home for the families of two workmen. Today it is accommodating four charming hotel rooms in the Nordic countryside style. Two of these rooms have fireplaces for a romantic evening with a crackling fire.

Classical rooms are located in the Edelfelt building. The charming annexe to the Svartå Manor is called “Edelfelt”. It was built in the 18th century according to the design of the famous architect Edelfelt. This elegant building hosts nine comfortable and spacious hotel rooms with a marvellous view over the park and river.

The so-called “Merlin’s Tower” is a suite on two floors romantically situated right at the riverside. The big private terrace over the water is inviting for sunbathing or for simple reading a book.
