Northern lights are a natural phenomenon, but in Lapland, Finland, you have an excellent chance to get to see them. You’ll also get to meet some enthusiastic arctic sled dogs during your visit, and they brighten up anyone’s day!
Rovaniemi is known as the capital of Lapland, Finland. It is located on the Arctic Circle and notably known as the home of Santa Claus, where the magic of Lapland, arctic nature with excellent services are in the same city.

Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus is a modern hotel in the heart of Rovaniemi and offers high quality accommodation, restaurants and conference services. The basic amenities of all room types are: TV, minibar, internet access, safety box, adjustable heating, air-conditioning, electric kettle, ironing board, trouser press, bathtub, shower, hair dryer.
A standard room accommodates maximum of 3 persons. Most of the rooms have separate beds and a sofa which can serve as an extra bed. There are also rooms with double bed. Most standard rooms are facing north and east and some of the rooms have a connecting door. The living area of a standard room is 22 sqm.

Travel program
Day 1 | Arrival in Rovaniemi
Flight on own arrangements to Rovaniemi, Finland.
You’ll meet your driver who takes you to Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus where you’ll be staying for the next two nights. Take some time to settle down and just relax. If you wish to go to the sauna and relax for real after the journey, you can easily enjoy the sweet warmth of the hotel’s evening sauna.
Day 2 | Rovaniemi (B)
7:00-10:00 (Mon-Fri) / 08:00-11:00 (Sat-Sun) Scandinavian buffet breakfast
Start the day off by joining a two-hour husky safari – A short transfer takes you to the husky farm, where the enthusiastic arctic sled dogs greet you with barking and jumping – as if they were saying, come on, let’s go. Huskies are passionate about running and that is why they are eager to take off with you in their sledge. But first things first: instructions on safety and driving. You and a friend are sharing a team of huskies and can take turns in mushing(driving) and being a passenger. The route of 7-10 km (depending on weather and snow conditions as well as driving skills) takes you through an enchanted winter landscape. There will be stops when you can change places as musher and passenger. Back at the farm, we will gather around the campfire to hear the mushers tell about life with huskies. You will of course also have time to cuddle and pat your newfound friends before it is time to leave the husky farm.
In the evening, search for northern lights by snowmobile. Driving through the dark landscapes is an awesome experience itself but if the sky is clear and you are lucky, you can experience the beautiful show of northern lights, a star-studded sky or mystical full moon. Our goal is a wilderness camp at a location where you have a clear view of the northern sky. Good stories, a tasty snack and hot beverages are guaranteed, even if the Auroras would fail us tonight! The duration of the activity is 4 hours.
Day 3 | Departure (B)
7:00-10:00 (Mon-Fri) / 08:00-11:00 (Sat-Sun) Scandinavian buffet breakfast
Check-out time is at 11:00 so if you have an afternoon flight there is complimentary luggage storage at the hotel.
