The winter season in the Finnish Lapland usually starts properly at the end of November and ends approximately at the beginning of April. There are lots of fun activities for both adults and children. On this tour, you might be able to see some magical Aurora Borealis, meet Santa Claus in person, visit a reindeer farm, try out some husky sledging, experience an ice castle, and see some arctic animals at Ranua Zoo.

Travel program
Day 1 | Arrival in Helsinki (L/D)
Flight to Helsinki on own arrangements.
Welcome to Finland! Meet your guide and driver at the airport and proceed to 3 hours long Helsinki city tour where you will see the must-see places. We will be visiting the Helsinki Cathedral, city library Oodi and Old Market Hall at the harbor. Welcome dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 2 | Helsinki – Rovaniemi (B/L/D)
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and proceed to the airport (coach transfer, not guided). The flight is on own arrangements to Rovaniemi. At the airport, you will be met by a local guide and we will visit Santa’s Village and a reindeer farm. Come and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers! Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself, visit Santa’s Official Post Office, do some shopping and enjoy delicious lunch. After lunch, we head to a local reindeer farm. Meet the reindeer, try a short reindeer sleigh ride, take part in a special “Crossing of the Arctic Circle” ceremony. Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari. We enjoy delicious lunch and head to a 1-hour city tour in Rovaniemi. After city tour we’ll check-in at the hotel and you have some time on your own to relax. Dinner will be served at the hotel.
Day 3 | Rovaniemi (B/L/D)
Today will be an interesting day as you get to meet some huskies. Upon arrival to the husky farm, the first welcome will be the barking of these friendly sled dogs. Huskies are harnessed in teams and you will experience a thrilling ride of 5 km. Two people share a team of sled dogs, having the possibility to change driver in midway. During the visit, you will hear stories about huskies, their nature and training. These Arctic animals truly love the cold climate as well as running and pulling a sled! Soup lunch is served in a cozy hut at the farm. Duration 2 hours in total. In the evening we will have a 3-course dinner at the Ice Hotel’s restaurant.

Day 4 | Rovaniemi – Ranua Day Tour (B/L/D)
Proceed to a full-day tour at the Ranua Wild Life park. At the Ranua Wildlife Park, you can see polar bears, as well as 50 different other arctic animal species in the midst of northern woods. The lunch buffet will be served next to the zoo.
In the evening we will enjoy dinner at a local Lappish restaurant.

After dinner we head to a Northern Lights Hunting safari with electrical snowmobiles. We ride our eSleds to the top of a hill, far from the city lights –an ideal place for watching the Northern Lights. We stop to observe and admire the night sky and stars, and, if we are lucky, see the Northern Lights as well. During the stop, we warm ourselves by the fire in a private hunting cabin and enjoy a Finnish supper.
Day 5 | Departure (B)
The check-out time is at 11:00 so if you have an afternoon flight there is complimentary luggage storage at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. It’s time to say goodbye to the capital of Lapland and the city of Santa Claus that was lucky to have you. Hope you had an incredible holiday and we hope to see you soon again!
